Though, public transport is available in the island of Cyprus, it is limited and the best way to travel around Cyprus is by car. The main road network is clearly signposted.

BUS SERVICE

Almost all villages are connected with the nearest city by local buses, however operation is limited to once or twice a day.

TAXI SERVICE
1. Transurban Service (shared) Taxis:
This service offers the opportunity to share a taxi with 4 - 8 other passengers. It provides transportation between all major cities every half hour from 06:00 till 18:00 hrs Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 17:00 hrs Saturdays and Sundays. Seats can be booked by phone and passengers can be collected from and dropped off at any place they wish, within the city boundaries. Please note that service is not offered on public holidays and the service taxis do not operate between teh airports and the cities or the cities and the villages.

2. Urban / Rural Taxis
Available 24 hours a day in all towns and main villages. They can be booked by phone or hired on the street. Taximeters are installed in all taxis and charging starts as soon as you get into the car.

Self-drive car and motorcycle rental firms have offices in all cities as well at Larnaca and Paphos airports.
